This article explains the Account Verification process. New accounts will default to Unverified status. To send text messages with SimpleTexting, your account verification is completed through the number registration process. US mobile carriers require all businesses to verify their identity and messaging intent to combat spam and fraud. Whether you choose a Toll-Free Number or a 10DLC, you must complete the respective registration process before you can start sending messages. Unverified numbers will be blocked by US carriers.
What are the restrictions on Unverified accounts?

How to get your account verified
Here is how to get verified based on the type of sender ID you use:
1. Toll-Free Number (TFN) Verification
If you use a Toll-Free number, you must complete a verification form to prove legitimate business use.
- What you need: Your registered business name, a Business Registration Number (BRN), website, address, expected monthly message volume, use case descriptions, and sample messages with photo/screenshot evidence.
- Timeline: Verification usually takes up to 7 business days.
- Restrictions: You cannot send messages while the number is pending verification.
2. 10DLC Registration (Local 10-Digit Numbers)
If you send from a local US 10-digit long code (10DLC), you are required to register your brand and campaign use cases so carriers know exactly who is sending the messages.
- What you need: Your Employer ID Number (EIN), legal company name, details on how users opt-in, sample messages, and links to your privacy policy and terms.
- Strict Privacy Rule: Your privacy policy must explicitly state that end-user personal info and phone numbers will not be shared or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.
- Compliance: You must include your brand name in your first message and provide clear opt-out instructions (like "Reply STOP").
3. 10DLC Authentication Plus (For Publicly Traded Brands)
If your business is a publicly traded company using 10DLC, you must complete an additional security step called Authentication Plus. This proves you are the actual brand and prevents bad actors from spoofing your highly visible company.
- How it works: You must provide a branded company email address. You will receive a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) email from The Campaign Registry to confirm your identity. There is a one-time $12.50 USD fee per verification.
- Restrictions: You cannot create new campaigns until this 2FA process is complete. If you ever change the business contact email, the verification is invalidated and must be redone.
