This article explains how to change your self-serve subscription plan.
If you are currently on a custom plan and would like to modify your terms, please reach out directly to your account manager or our support team for assistance.
Prerequisites:
To change your subscription plan directly from your dashboard, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be logged in as an Admin user.
- You must have an active Credit Card on file as your primary payment method.
How plan upgrades work (immediate)
An upgrade occurs when you move to a higher tier plan (e.g., a plan with more included messages). Upgrades take effect immediately so you can access your higher limits right away.
Monthly-to-monthly upgrades
- Timing: Immediate.
- Billing: You will be charged a prorated fee for the remaining days of your current billing cycle.
- Credits: You will immediately receive a prorated allocation of the new plan's message credits to use for the rest of your cycle.
- Anniversary date: Your billing anniversary date does not change.
Annual-to-annual upgrades
- Timing: Immediate.
- Billing: You will be charged a prorated amount calculated for the remainder of your 12-month term.
- Credits: You will immediately receive a full new balance of annual credits upfront.
- Anniversary date: Your 12-month billing anniversary date does not change.
How plan downgrades work (scheduled)
A downgrade occurs when you move to a lower tier plan. To ensure you get the full value of what you have already paid for, downgrades do not take place immediately; instead, they are scheduled for your next renewal.
Monthly-to-monthly downgrades
- Timing: Your downgrade will be scheduled and take effect on your next monthly billing anniversary date.
- Billing & credits: You will retain your current plan's limits and credits for the remainder of your current cycle. On your anniversary date, you will be billed the new lower rate and receive the new credit amount.
Annual-to-annual downgrades
- Timing: Your downgrade will take effect at the end of your current 12-month term.
- Billing & credits: Because annual plans are a 12-month commitment, your pricing and credit allocation remain at your current tier until the term expires. The lower plan and its corresponding pricing will apply upon your automatic annual renewal.
