This article covers how your subscription billing, renewal, and credit cycles work so you can manage your account and avoid service interruptions.
Your billing anniversary
Your billing cycle is determined by your original sign-up anniversary date.
- Monthly Plans: You will be billed on the same calendar day each month (e.g., if you signed up on October 15th, your billing date will always be the 15th of each month).
- Annual Plans: You will be billed once every 12 months on your sign-up anniversary date.
Payment methods & automatic renewal
To ensure uninterrupted service, all plans are set to renew automatically at the end of their respective cycles.
- Accepted Payments: All self-serve subscriptions are paid via Credit Card (processed securely through Adyen).
- Automated Billing: Your card on file will be charged automatically on your anniversary date.
- Annual Commitment: Annual plans are pre-paid for a 12-month commitment. Because these represent a dedicated capacity commitment, annual subscription fees are non-refundable once renewed.
Understanding your messaging credits
Depending on whether you choose a monthly or annual plan, your messaging credits are distributed and handled differently:
🔄 Monthly Plans (Credit Rollover)
- Your included plan credits are added to your account on your monthly anniversary date.
- Rollover Rule: Any unused credits at the end of your billing cycle will roll over for exactly one month.
- Example: If you have 500 unused credits remaining on November 14th, they will roll over into your November 15th cycle. If they are still unused by December 15th, those rolled-over credits expire.
📆 Annual Plans (Upfront Allocation)
- When you purchase or renew an annual plan, your entire credit allocation for the 12-month period is added to your account upfront on day one.
- There are no monthly rollover rules to worry about; you can use your total balance at any pace throughout your 12-month term.
How Messaging Credits Are Deducted
Credits are deducted based on the type of message sent or received:
- Outbound SMS: 1 credit per message recipient.
- Outbound MMS (with media): 3 credits per message recipient.
- Inbound SMS: Free (0 credits).
- Inbound MMS: 1 credit per message received.
